Don't see love that has made our two hearts warm,
With flaws which could grow and flawed love bring grief;
Mistake love's nature and reason we're born
If past failures are blamed on love the thief
Where our love makes all the little things great Never great things nothing as some suppose.
Imagine love neutral or second rate;
Could love like ours have power with, without clothes,
Cover long distance, reveal tenderness, Remove tears, add colour, change habits deep?
Give love the chance to overcome feared stress
This time round of too little, then poor sleep
As time brings out faults not love's fault at all
So don't let greatest love miss rise and fall.


The Poet speaks seriously to his love about the nature of love. He aims to persuade her to forget failures of past relationships (for love was not responsible) and venture into total union with him. Blame not love but choose more wisely he hints. But deep down a woman already knows this.
